With a tablet or phone in hand, children can let creativity flourish wherever they want – even where the traditional bead game reaches its limits. Whether it's in the car, the sofa or for big brother's swimming training, Hama Universe can offer hours of creative play. The app contains 6 islands with approx. 60 patterns per island. There are 20 different pegboards and 18 different colours, including 3 glow-in-the-dark colour where you have to "turn off" the light to see the great effect. On the rainbow, you can choose between all 20 pegboards, and you can design exactly the pattern you like. If you swipe it, it will be saved on the big green planet where you can send it to those you love.
Hama Universe is for everyone who likes to play with beads, but developed for children aged 5-7 as the primary target group. The app can be downloaded for free from both the App Store and Google Play.

About going digital
Malte Haaning Plastic A/S, which has been producing beads since 1971, has launched the app Hama Universe, which is a digital universe for the classic play with beads and pegboards.
Hama beads' invitation to creative and developing play as well as the product's high quality have given the Hama brand a unique position on the global market, and now the success is being extended to a digital platform.
It has not been without misgivings for the family-owned company to develop an app, but with Hama Universe, Hama remains true to its core product – namely the play with beads, patterns and pegboards.
In a colourful universe consisting of a pirate, princess and circus, winter, mystical and traffic island, the child's fine motor skills and memory are challenged when the beads have to be placed and the patterns reproduced, before they are "ironed" and saved in the digital universe. Hama Universe supports creative play and strengthens the child's concentration, creative abilities and desire to create.
Hama Universe thus functions as an extension of the traditional play with beads, but in new settings that are otherwise unfamiliar to the experience.
